The Director, CEESR UNIUYO, Dr. Edu Inam was invited to share with global experts and UNEP the experiences in establishing, researches undertaken and other sustainable chemistry programmes of the centre.
The invitation came after a competitive selection process of many sustainable chemistry start-up initiatives globally.
Dr. Inam was able join the workshop virtually to share insights into the research and development initiatives of the University of Uyo with respect to the establishment of CEESR, knowledge gained and lessons learnt.
She affirmed the readiness of the centre to collaborate with more international research partners, funding agencies and investors.
The workshop session titled “Advancing Entrepreneurship and Start-up Initiatives for Sustainable Chemistry: Learning from Case Studies” held in Berlin, Germany on September 14, 2017 was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Center (ISC3) / Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the German Chemical Society (GDCh), the Freie Universität Berlin and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
